A New Family Room

We spent last weekend retiling our family room floor. It was an ugly, outdated green and black color from the 50's. If you look close, you can seen the last remnant of it in the picture of Doug putting down the last few tiles. I am so excited for our new floor. Those of you who saw it before will appreciate the new look the most, but I must say that it is exciting for me. All we need now are a few more bookshelves so we can empty our 43 other boxes of books (seen partially in the middle picture and stacked in a corner of the third picture). Then it will be complete.

WOW! It looks tons better! Honestly, I didn't remember that there was a fireplace down there...it must have been covered with boxes of books!

That looks so great, Patti. It's almost like getting a new house when you get to 'clean up' an area...isn't it? congrats! Enjoy the new floor!

I never saw the floor but I can certainly appreciate what it feels like to have ugly floors. You should have seen our house when we first moved in! It makes a huge difference to get a new floor. Enjoy it!

Looks so great, nice job! I bet it feels so good. I know how you feel about all the books, my dad has the same problem. He calls his books, his children and that is excuse for not getting rid of them.
