Girls Camp 2010

We had a great girls' camp this year. We went to Rupert, ID to a river ranch. There was a lot of things to do.

There was a log roll that the girls just loved.

There was a terrific water slide that went right into the Snake River, which was pretty cold in June, but the girls didn't seem to mind that much. We also got a chance to canoe down the river for a few miles and play volleyball on a little island.

There was a lot of just messing around too. But we all had a great time. Good food, skits, kareoke (sp?), but my absolute favorite thing about this ranch is that it had indoor sleeping quarters with actual beds for all the leaders. I vote to go back again.

Emmi's Graduation

Emma-Leigh graduated from Soda Springs High School the end of May. She was the top in her class and had the opportunity to speak at graduation, which she did very well. Emmi "borrowed" a big box of Doug's ties from his closet and passed them out to all the people in her class. Each one of them handed him a tie as they shook his hand on the way to get their diplomas. As you can see in the picture, he put them around his neck and was pretty much weighed down by them by the end. All of Emmi's brothers and sisters were able to come, although Rachelle stayed home with the girls instead of fighting them all night. It was a good night. I am still having trouble believing she is out of high school.

Proud of our Smarties

Like I said, I know this is a few months late, but I am catching up. At the awards assembly at the end of May, Emmi and Maci heard their names a lot. Maci got at least 3 awards and Emmi got one for every class she was in along with several scholarships. It is soooooo nice not to ever have to worry about hearing bad things about my kids from teachers. They always make me proud.

Woo Hoo--Faster Internet

It has been forever since I've blogged. In fact, I had decided that the time just wasn't worth it because our internet was so slow that I just got too impatient to blog. Today, for my birthday (which was last Saturday) we got a new internet provider and it is like heaven. Things actually open up when you want them to. Maybe I will catch up on the last few months in the next few days. Isn't technology wonderful?

Prom 2010

I am terribly late posting this, but better late than never. Emma-Leigh went to her senior prom with Bradyn Smith. He asked her by hanging a poster in a tree at Hooper Park. Then they So they had to use flashlights to find the hidden poster. went out bird watching and he couldn't convince Emmi to go to Hooper until after dark. Anyway, Lindsay came down to do her hair on prom day.
She looked beautiful. We were late going to the floor show and missed Emmi marching in, but got a couple of pictures while at the prom.

Footprints in the Snow

And I do mean footprints, not shoeprints. Doug walked out barefooted to get the paper. That man loves his paper A LOT! However, I can't say I've never done this but the picture is priceless.

UN-assembly Line?

A couple of weeks ago when we came home, we found that the snow had come off the roof and was blocking our garage with a huge ridge of snow. I didn't think to take a picture until we had shoveled half of it But then the Emmi and Maci took over and made "a game" out of it. First Maci put snow in Emmi's shovelthen Emmi would throw it over her head into the big snowpile off from the driveway.

It took twice as long, but they had fun.
